3rd week of uni...........i'm losing determination to attend my class!!!It's so hard to wake up for classes at 8am.Summore 3 times a week again!
But i'll hold my grounds, the people i love are counting on me,With God on my side,I will not fail them
Ok stupid classes aside, there is something on my mind that i wanna share wif u guys.
Something that i realise that is happening now and which i need to address immediately.
Look at the picture below,it is divided into 2 sections 'the dark' and 'the light'
Now as christians, on which side should we be on?Is it on point A-the dark or is it point b-the light?Seems pretty obvious isnt it?I mean we are aferall christians right?save and redeem by the blood of Jesus Christ.If there is anywhere we should be, we should be in point b-the light.
Well if you settle for point B as your answer, then you are PRIDEFULLY AND SELFISHLY WRONG.Yes we are redeemed, yes we are healed, and yes we are called to be the light and shine like a city on a hill.But why are shining in places where there is already others shining as well? Do you need a lamp in broad daylight?do you need to save those who are already saved?Who are we to fortify oursleves inside four towering walls, and say that we are better than the people outside this walls?Have you forgotten, that the people outside this walls are loved by God just as much as you are?Then who are we to say to GOD that those outside the walls are filthy worthless scumbags, bad influence and unable to do good????Who are we to even think that we are better off than them!
If your answer was point A- again you are very wrong,.We are in a constant spiritual warfare here, and if you think that you can put urself in the dark and change it entirely, then you are gravely mistaken.Remember, the devil isnt a walk over! He's smarter than all of us, if we know how and when the devil is going to strike, you think any of us will ever be attacked?No! But the problem is that, half the time, we dont even see him coming, what more to place urself right in his territory-the dark???Before u know it,the darkness would have already overwhelmed you.Having the right intentions doesnt necessarily means you will get to the right conclusion!Good intentions arent enough, you will need more than good intentions if you wanna change the world
In my opinion, we should be at Point C- the door between the dark and the light.And not just 1 person, i mean the entire church of christ.Its time to say goodbye to your fortified castle, and abolish the guerilla attacks that we use once in a while by tossing 1 or two christians into the dark and hoping that they would change the whole darkness into light.Dont get me wrong here, everyone can make a difference,dont belittle what little you have now.But to just think that u can walk in and chamge the world, my how naive is that!Wake up people!Start at the door,with prayers, with petition, with preparation, with the church and not going in alone, and most importantly, with God's counsel and guidance, let the light slip in slowly and steadily.Before you know it, the entire room will be filled with light.Do you not realise it yet, that Jesus is the door to salvation, and we who have known and experience the love of christ, arent we also like a door to love?why keep the door shut, open it up! 1person, 2 person, 3person......and more, soon the darkness will be overwhelmed with light.Everyone matters!
I'm not trying to belittle Jesus here, some of you might say, i have Jesus, therefore i have already won the war.Mind you, we are still in the midst of a spiritual warfare, and Jesus did call on us to fight this war.Not just sit there and call upon his name.Another thing is that, even Jesus didnt rush into combat, he took his time, to be exact 30yrs.He came first as a baby, grew up a carpenter, went and slowly find his disciples, fasted, prayed, when through baptism, and then into the warzone-healing, performing miracles,teaching and the finale, the cross, over which he rose up victorious 3 days later!You dont see Jesus just budging and pushing his way through
the enemies territory do you?He took time to prepare and pray!Victory, as we all know was surely Jesus, but look at him, he took his time to show compassion for the poor,the sick, the weak and the sinners.He was filled with love and compassion for them.The same goes for us christians, we are not here for a leisure walk to kill whatever time we have left on earth, we are called to a battle to win souls, to win hearts, to win lives, and at the same time not forgetting the reason for doing all this-LOVE
The last thing i wanna leave you guys with is this:
If God is love, OR if God=Love;
then are we not by definition,messengers of love!
